The team has expended many late nights as well as the past weekend digging via dusty old backups along with restoring them, in the hope of finding greater than just the old IT manager's MP3 collection of 80s rock power ballads!?

 

Last week, Mod Mark posted a new thread on our forums highlighting a lot of the nostalgic and often passionate discussions within the community around a desired return of an ‘runescape gold’ version regarding RuneScape. Specifically, the fine vintages connected with 2006 & 2007 got the high point regarding collective interest. Our team then attempted to see if we experienced a backup that gone that far back; if restoring the burn was even technically feasible; and what specific articles these potential old RuneScape backups could possibly contain.

 

Finally, I’m very happy to report that we have indeed managed to recoup a full RuneScape burn from August 2007. This is a complete snapshot on the game, which we have had the opportunity to verify would function, with some time and effort picked up it. Ironically, in October 2007 we actually changed our burn systems, so we have absolutely no complete content versions through August onwards that are viable for this specific purpose.
